Petra will defend her doctoral dissertation at the University of Lapland on January 28th 2011.
My study explores design expertise from the point of view of professional identity. I am interested with questions about the collective nature of design expertise as well as the factors generating individual role variations. My empirical data consists of semi-structured interviews with professional designers and design managers. Thus the first step of conceptualization and the underpinnings of the analysis is the expertise of the practitioners.
