LeNS (Learning Network on Sustainability) is a 3-year project (2007-2010) that promotes Design for Sustainability (DfS) education, the product-service system (PSS) design approach, and the open sharing of course materials and design tools. It was funded by the European Commission (Asia-Link Programme, EuropeAid), involving seven design schools in Europe and Asia, and now expanding into a worldwide network of like-minded design universities, schools and institutions.
Aalto University’s School of Art and Design, one of the original partners in the LeNS project, invites design educators and researchers in Finland to learn how LeNS learning materials can be used, and discuss the initiation of a “LeNS Finland” network and web-platform to share DfS tools and lecture material, in the LeNS Learning Lab 12.5.2011. The workshop session in the morning will be followed by the LeNS Open Seminar session, covering topics such as LeNS project insights and sustainability in design education and research in the School of Art and Design. This event is held in conjunction with the MoA Masters of Arts exhibition.
